It was a regular Wednesday at Tornbjerg Gymnasium in Odense, Denmark. Some guy from some random organisation was talking at a gathering. This guy named Lauge, a former student from Red Cross Nordic UWC, woke my interest for UWC. I had not previously heard of it, but it sounded like a great way to get an exiting education while using the surplus I have to help others.
After applying, I went to two "auditions" where the 16 UWC students of 2010 were selected. An exciting experience which thankfully turned out good for my part.
The first time i met my co-years was at an info-meeting in Copenhagen with parents and all. next time we met was at a intro-trip who UWC Denmark had arraged for us. It was a fun trip, and it was nice to meet all the others under less formal circumstances. After the trip, Emil, who is going to Hongkong, and I thought that we all needed to spend some more time together, so we planned a trip to Nyborg Camping. We had a blast. We saw eachother in new ways, which was awesome. We connected. I'm personally very thankfull for that.
It is now the day before departure. Frankly, I'm quite nervous.
